For the past 6 weeks, D and I have been spending a lot of time together. And I mean, a lot. Thanks to his company folding-him doing freelance work and working from home-waiting for his new job to start phase, we get to spend every waking moment with each other. We wake up together, we eat every meal together, we watch TV together, we take long afternoon naps together... you get the idea. Everything together. And I'm not complaining. How can I complain when every day feels like a weekend! It seems like the universe heard D's complaints in the past about how he's always working, eternally meeting deadlines, pitching accounts and closing deals when all he really wants to do is sleep and spend time with me. Well, he got some free time, alright. But sadly, at the expense of losing a stable source of income. But that's ok because when one door closes, another one opens. That's just how life works.
So yes, a lot of quality time. And even though our budget has been tight lately, it's still been fun. It made us realize that we just have to think of more creative and cost-effective ways of having fun (i.e.: Awesome Cheap Dates) and have a greater appreciation for the little things.
We're trying to relish these last remaining days before D starts his new job. But I would like to go ahead and say: thank you universe for the much-needed break from the fast-paced life we (used to) lead. It has been awesome!
the secret is out.
