my happy list

With the ongoing uncertainty in the state of my career, I would have to admit that it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to put on a happy face these days. So today, I am making a conscious effort to be happy by making a list of things that would remind me that things aren't so bad. So, here it goes...

  1. The smell of bookstores.
  2. Being in a room filled with books.
  3. Mexican food.
  4. Ikea online catalogs.
  5. The smell of fresh laundry. (which some genius actually bottled up and sold as a perfume)
  6. A clean, uncluttered house.
  7. DIY ideas.
  8. Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
  9. Sweet, milky coffee.
  10. Pooping. (because I'm unbelievably constipated)
  11. Grocery shopping.
  12. Spending lazy afternoons in parks.
  13. Out of town trips.
  14. Weeknights spent on the couch, watching random movies we've downloaded.
  15. New music.
  16. Weekday lunch dates with D.
  17. After lunch power naps.
  18. Eating junk food without guilt.
  19. Shoe shopping.
  20. Being able to start and end each day with D next to me.












That wasn't so bad, was it? I kinda feel better already. Hmmm... maybe I should do this more often.
